What StephX is not

StephX has clear boundaries so the workspace stays supportive, consent-led, and therapist-guided.

Quick overview

StephX is not a therapist, diagnosis tool, emergency service, EMDR treatment tool, trauma reprocessing guide, or bilateral stimulation tool. If someone is in immediate danger, they should contact local emergency services.

What you’ll see

Boundary notices keep the app’s role clear before clients use the workspace.
The Help Centre repeats the core safety boundaries in plain language.

Boundaries to know

  • StephX is not a therapist and does not replace therapy with a qualified professional.
  • StephX does not diagnose or tell a client what something means clinically.
  • StephX does not provide emergency or crisis support, and sharing inside the app does not send an emergency alert.
  • StephX does not perform EMDR treatment, does not guide trauma reprocessing, and does not use or provide bilateral stimulation.

How to use StephX safely

  • Use it to organise what may be useful to bring to your therapist.
  • Keep content broad, symbolic, partial, or unfinished when that feels safer.
  • Pause or step away if the work feels too much.
  • Bring urgent safety concerns to appropriate emergency or crisis services rather than relying on the app.

Emergency boundary

If someone is in immediate danger or may be harmed, contact local emergency services now. StephX does not monitor the workspace for emergencies or automatically contact the therapist.
