Pacing and support

Pause and grounding

Pause / Grounding is a separate place to slow down, orient, or step away when needed.

Quick overview

Pause / Grounding is available when the work feels too much. You can stop, save, return later, keep things unfinished, or bring a topic to your therapist instead of continuing alone.

What you’ll see

Pause / Grounding offers simple prompts for stepping back when the work feels too much.

How this works

  • Open Pause / Grounding when you want to step away from writing or reviewing.
  • Use a simple grounding prompt, take a break, or return to the dashboard.
  • Leave a card broad, symbolic, partial, or unfinished if detail does not feel right.
  • Bring the topic to your therapist rather than continuing alone when that feels safer.

What you stay in control of

  • Whether to continue, save, pause, or return later.
  • Whether a card needs detail today.
  • Whether a topic belongs in session rather than in between-session writing.

Emergency boundary

Pause / Grounding is not emergency support. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
